Federal employees and retirees have many choices for their health plan selection during open season. Choices are generally good, however too many can lead to paralysis. In addition, federal retirees are not required to enroll in Medicare to maintain FEHBP coverage.

I’m getting so many emails from people wanting to retire sooner rather than later. Perhaps they’re thinking about getting the most out of the years they have left. There aren’t any loopholes, but there are choices.
